Blog Tour: Home for Christmas by Heidi Swain

Bella is living her best life in Wynbridge, with her beloved Spaniel, Tink. She’s found a way to keep the house she inherited from her grandparents while expanding her dream business – Away With the Fairies – and she’s ecstatic that Christmas is on the horizon!

In fact, everything is perfect until family friend, Catherine Connelly asks Bella if she’d be willing to rent part of the house to freelance author, Jude who is researching the history of the Connelly Clan and Wynthorpe Hall ahead of turning his findings into a book. The plan had been for Jude to stay at the hall, but he can’t cope with the chaos and Bella reluctantly agrees to open her door to him.

Initially, the pair clash but then friendlier feelings begin to grow and Bella finds herself wondering if Jude could become more than just another guest before it’s time for him to leave. That is, until he announces he has no time for Christmas!

With her favourite time of the year suddenly in jeopardy, will Bella ever feel like she’s home for Christmas?

I was very excited to be offered the opportunity to read an early copy of Heidi Swain's 2024 Christmas release and be part of the blog tour. I have loved Heidi's books ever since I picked up the first one and always look forward to the newest one.

Reading this book was a real treat. It is like a Christmassy hug and warm hot chocolate all rolled into one and I loved just how festive and lovely it was. I thoroughly recommend getting it to read in the run up to the December to really put you in the mood for the upcoming festivities. Likewise when you buy this make sure you also purchase some lovely Christmas snacks and beverages to consume as you read. Likewise because it is set in Wynbridge there is a fair amount in the book to inspire you and your crafty creative side. I was inspired by Bella's handmade fairy business and actually put the book down at one point to pull out bits and pieces from my  crafty cupboard to start loosely planning my christmas gifts making this year.

I really liked Bella as a character. She is the sort of girl I would love to be friends with and that made it really easy to root for her over the course of the book. I loved it when things were going well for her and wanted to commiserate with her when things weren't. Jude is a interesting character. He starts off with a grumpy, standoffish character and enjoyed seeing Bella help him work his way past that and seeing how their friendship grew over the course of the story. Very much a christmas sunshine meets scroogey grumpy story and I was there for it.

If you've enjoyed Heidi's books before one reason why you'll love this book is because we are back in Wynbridge, we get to go to the hall and back to the cafe and meet up with all our favourite characters from previous books again.  It was a real joy to be back in that world again and feels like you have come back home for Christmas yourself.

If you are looking for your 2024 Christmas read look no further as you've found yourself a real Christmas cracker.
