Abandon is the first Meg Cabot I have read and certainly is an interesting story which has potential to be good but I felt with this instalment that not everything was quite there yet which is probably due to the fact it is quite clearly written as the first in a series.
What I liked about it
I liked the main ideas and the links to Greek Mythology
The final few scenes really went a bit nuts and set up loads of ideas which should make for fab reading in future books.
I liked the main character Pierce and felt for her as she had been through so much in her short life
What could have been better
I'm the first to admit I read super fast and there is the potential for me to miss bits or small details in books(although I don't think I do) but I found myself whilst reading this with the continual feeling that I had missed something. I was constantly flipping pages back to work out what I had missed to find that I hadn't but then finding the answers to what I had missed a few pages on once I continued reading again. I found this writing style / storytelling really odd and I'm not sure if I liked it because it really slowed down my reading pace as I wasted time being confused.
I'lll leave it there for the time being - one of those books which I will kind of reserve judgement on until I get the next instalment in the series.
