Today's Bookcase Showcase is from one of my favourite bloggers the lovely Vivienne from Serendipity . She is one of the friendliest bloggers I have come across in the last few months. Please check out her blog because it's awesome
I have four Ikea Billy Bookcases situated in my hallway upstairs which house all of my lovely books. Up until recently there were only two of them, one either side of the window. Unfortunately they had reached the stage of triple stacking and I knew that a book culling might need to occur. Luckily my husband came to my rescue and kindly bought me two more. I like to call it my landing library now!
There really isn’t any system to my book shelves. I suppose they are loosely separated by genre and I really do mean loosely. The first set of book shelves hold all of my YA books and I am already reaching a stage of double stacking. I did start colour coordinating them but then I got bored. The darker novels tend to sit at the bottom of the shelves.
The two sets of shelves in the middle hold everything else. From contemporary to chick lit, from classic to non fiction. I have an eclectic taste, although recently I have moved completely towards YA books. Personally I blame Twitter and the UK Book Tours (Tee hee).
The last set of shelves holds a lot of reference books that I have bought to help me complete my unfinished manuscript (sigh) as well as a set of first edition books that had belonged to my late father in law. I can actually put my hand up to being the first person to read any of them!
I have about twenty books which sit in my bedside cabinet and they normally consist of library books and ones that I have been lent or asked to review. I don’t keep books anywhere else around the house, except for a pile to be reviewed which sit naggingly next to my computer, a constant reminder that I need to write blog posts about them. I hope you enjoyed the free virtual tour of my book cases. Do leave a tip on the way out!
Thank you Vivienne for showing us your shelves.

I would love to have nice matching bookcases, at the moment mine are ones that have been collected through the years. My shelves also don't look anywhere near as organised as these.

A sentance, I will probably never say again...

I try and colour co-ordinate too but it doesn't always work. I'm now thinking of which walls I could knock through to have shelves like yours!
:)
I recognise a few titles there - I've one of those huge spell books, recently finished The Gargoyle, I had Wings till my eldest nicked it and is now pestering me to get her the next one in the series... the True Bloods (of course)
Lovely to see your shelves Vivienne. Even if I am now green.
I love your bookshelves! I want them!
I really wanted some billy bookcases but I couldn't afford them. When I grow up I will replace mine with Billys! :P
Check out my Sunday Salon post, with a link to a post about my books (Booking Through Thursday).
