All I can say is WOW!!! This book surpassed all expectations I had for it and completely rocked my socks off. Unlike all the other books in the series which plod along slowly before building up to the action, this one is action packed throughout. I literally don't know where to start with this review as I can;t put into coherent sentences exactly how much I loved this book. Therefore I am going to tell you what I liked about different parts - I can't guarantee this will be spoiler free.
Rose is awesome throughout this book and its nice to see her having to think her way around situations rather than have to fight her way out of them. I loved the scenes where she was broken out of prison and when she was on the run.

Lissa comes into her own in this book. I loved watching her grow through the royal candidates trials and seeing how she dealt with all the problems that came her way. The whole mystery around the other Dragomir was awesome and I loved how it played out.
I did like how the love triangle between Rose Adrian and Dmitri played out but I feel for the one who got left out and wonder how he is going to deal with everything in the future.
The final showdown was immense - I loved how Rose solved the riddle of who killed Tatiana and how she went about exposing the real criminal (never saw it coming!) along with bringing the other Dragomir to court.
The final ending was awesome. I loved it and loved the fact that while it finished off the story it still left much open to pick up in the future and Mead has teased she will. I am looking forward to seeing what she does with the Vampire Academy world next.
An awesome series and fantastic ending which will not disappoint.
